Six students will graduate from the Storefront Learning Center Thursday in the alternative high school's penultimate graduation ceremony.

Funding difficulties will close the downtown Wausau school at the end of this year, and the last graduation ceremony likely will take place in December or January, said Mary Jaax, Storefront director. The center was slated to close in June, but a fund-raising efforts by graduates, staff members and others, along with a contribution from Marathon County and a local foundation, kept the center open for last half of the year to give current students time to graduate.

Graduates in Thursday's ceremony will be Cassandra Nicole Hayes, Jessica Rae Flynn, Joanna Marie Lyne, Alexandra M. Peters, Kalen Tazz Jari and Christie Thao. The graduation will be held at 6 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church, 330 McClellan St.
