Hearing delayed for park attack suspect

A preliminary hearing for the Wausau man accused of attacking a woman at a local park was delayed Wednesday.

Robert Woods, 32, was charged in Thursday in Marathon County Circuit Court with strangulation/suffocation and making threats to injure, both felonies. Woods also faces misdemeanor battery charges, online court records show. Woods appeared in court Wednesday without an attorney and waived the time limits for the hearing, which must be held within 10 days after charges are filed unless the defendant agrees to the time waiver.
