Former students recognize teacher's 90th birthday

Students from Sacred Heart Grade School, Nekoosa, between 1944 and 1953, arranged a 90th birthday celebration for one of their former teachers, Sister Lenore Steilen, on July 9.

Dozens of Sister's students and their families have stayed in touch with her during the years, and a group of them collaborated across the miles to plan the event, which was held at Clare Hall in St. Francis, Wis., where Sister Lenore retired in 2000.
