YAPS finds a new home

The Young Adult Parent Support (YAPS) program, displaced when a Sturgeon Bay medical clinic closed in March, has found a new place to call home.

YAPS, started nine years ago by Kathy Tellstrom, mission is to lend support to young parents ages 14-24. When participants turn 25, they have the opportunity to become mentors themselves. According to Tellstrom, in 2009 the group became an umbrella program of the Wellness Center of Door County in Sturgeon Bay. The Wellness Center closed indefinitely in March.
