Tell Congress we need to feed the hungry

Sometimes, I forget the time, neglect a meal and end up hungry. But I can always get food. Not everyone is as fortunate - especially children.

One out of every five children in America lives below the poverty line and is hungry. There are 35,000 American children who are always hungry. Always hungry. What an awful thing for us to allow in America.

It doesn't mean that these children never eat. It means that there's never enough. The fourth week of the month comes and food stamps, or what we now call SNAP, have run out. Lunch programs at school help many, but only about 10 percent of hungry children have ...
