Training program prepares you for 5K

Morris Township, April 21, 2013 -- Runners and walkers head out on the course by Ginty Firehouse. Connor's House hosts its inaugural fundraising race, the Connor's House 5K, to support families of children with life-threatening illnessess requiring 24/7 care. More than 100 runners, walkers and strollers of all skill levels participated in the race starting at Ginty Field. Connor's House was founded in 2009 in memory of Connor Scott Millard, a spunky 8-year-old boy with significant medical and developmental challenges. The national Couch to 5K program is designed to help people who havenít run by helping them to train safely for a 3.1 mile race in just two months. The schedule progresses gradually each week, building up a runnerís endurance.

Each training session should begin with a warmup.
