The Green Bay Packers held a closed practice at Ray Nitschke Field in shorts this morning. It lasted 1 hour, 37 minutes. Here are some highlights:

♦ In a field goal competition, Giorgio Tavecchio made 8 of 8 attempts and Mason Crosby 7 of 8. That leaves Tavecchio with 27 of 31 made field goals during training camp, and Crosby sits at 22 of 31. Tavecchio's made kicks were from 36, 42, 46, 53, 36, 42, 46 and 53. Crosby made kicks from 36, 42, 46, 53, 36, 42 and 53. His lone miss was from 46 yards wide left.

♦ Rookie defensive end Datone Jones, who sprained an ankle in Friday's preseason game, was dressed in shorts and seemed to be moving around fine but didn't participate in the organized portions of practice.

♦ Guard T.J. Lang, who played one series against Arizona on Friday night, didn't practice.
