Highlights from Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy's post-practice press conference:

♦ (Rookie defensive end) Datone Jones will miss a couple days. Don't know if he will play in Rams game.

♦ (Running back) DuJuan Harris passed his physical. We will keep him out of team drills tomorrow and evaluate.

♦ (Running back) Eddie Lacy was in rehab today.

♦ (Wide receiver) Randall Cobb is getting better.

♦ (Guard) T.J. Lang's back is bothering him. I held him out of practice; he was dressed for practice.

♦ Kickers hit ball better. Increased the volume today, will continue to do that.

♦ Reps today were product of our numbers. Certain guys got more reps due to good performance in game, such as (wide receiver) Tyrone Walker and (cornerback) Micah Hyde.

♦ Coaches create opportunity for players and players need to take advantage.

♦ Receiver didn't have good release, quarterback Graham Harrell made bad decision on interception vs. Cardinals.

♦ (Rookie guard) Lane Taylor played very well in Friday's game. I thought he stepped up.

♦ DuJuan Harris, the way we finished season, I would classify him as starter on football team. I have that confidence in him. He finished season strong. Look for him to get through this week and we will evaluate. Expect he will be back where he needs to be by next week. Best thing that might have happened to him last year is not getting drafted. He has different level of motivation. It's refreshing how motivated he is. He was passed over from personnel standpoint, but he's a damn good football player.

♦ I don't think there was a player who played more than 35 plays. Fatigue wasn't factor in any lack of energy in Friday's game.

♦ (Tackle Derek) Sherrod is making progress. Medical staff is feeling good about way he is progressing. But I don't know if he'll be ready to practice by next week. We're trying to get him comfortable.

♦ (Safety) Sean Richardson, we feel we need to wait. there's some healing that needs to take place.
