Kickers Mason Crosby and Giorgio Tavecchio had a good day in live field-goal kicking today.
Both went 8-for-8 on kicks ranging from 36 yards to 53 yards. They did have a strong wind at their backs. On Monday, Tavecchio also went 8-for-8 and Crosby went 7-for-8.
This was the first time they kicked live field goals in back-to-back practices.
“These last two days were good,” Crosby said. “It was good to test our bodies and test our minds a little bit, and hit two really long sets. I think hitting that many balls really kind of pushed me and got me into a rhythm and into a good spot. I feel really good with that process.”
For all of training camp, Crosby is 30-for-39 in live field-goal periods, whereas Tavecchio is 35 of 39.
“I like to take the film for an unbiased look,” Tavecchio said. “Because sometimes you do good things and the results don’t reflect, and sometimes you don’t do as well and the results show as if you had a perfect day. I thought Mason did a great job. When something is done right you have to appreciate it, and I think he was very fluid.”
