Players seminar focuses on Holmes portrayer

Peninsula Players Theatre's series of free public seminars continues with mystery scholar Christopher Chan discussing the lead character in the current Players production, "The Game's Afoot," at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 17.

Chan will focus on actor/playwright William Gillette, the lead character in "The Game's Afoot." Gillette was a real-life person who was the first playwright to adapt famed fictional detective Sherlock Holmes to the stage and who portrayed Holmes in more than 1,300 performances.
