The 61st annual Peninsula Music Festival wraps up its second week and starts its third and final week with Prokofiev, voices and some lighter shades of classical music.
The Aug. 15 concert continues the festival-long exploration of Russian composers with "Russian Wonders II," a night of the music of Sergei Prokofiev. Guest soloist Inna Faliks will perform Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 1 and No. 3, and Symphony No. 6 by Prokofiev will be heard. PMF music director Victor Yampolsky will give a pre-concert talk at 6:30 p.m. about the music and life of Prokofiev.
