Lincoln Center offers classes and activities for older adults. The Aging & Disability Resource Center of Portage County is a one-stop resource for services for seniors, adults with disabilities, their families and caregivers. The Nutrition Program invites seniors to enjoy good food and good company at the six dining sites in Portage County: Lincoln Center, Hi-Rise Manor, Plover Municipal Building, Jensen Center in Amherst, Faith Lutheran Church in Rosholt, and the Junction City Park Pavilion. This week's RSVP volunteer opportunity: Would you like to help children in a fun way, using puppets to present valuable information? RSVP BABES (Beginning Awareness Basic Education Studies) is a primary prevention program designed to teach children how to live a happy, healthy, drug and tobacco free life.

Unless noted otherwise, the following take place at Lincoln Center, 1519 Water St.

Monday

7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.: Walking Club.

8 a.m. to noon: Holly Shoppe posting.

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Pool tables open play; computers for beginners; resistance chair exercise.

10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.: Holly Shoppe open.

10 a.m.: Bunco.

10:30 a.m.: Resistance chair demo.

11:30 a.m.: Music by Agnes Mallek.

1 p.m.: Scrabble; bridge.

Lunch menu: Stuffed green pepper, wax beans, whole grain bread, strawberries, yellow cake. Old Timers Band, and bingo at the Amherst dining site.

Tuesday

7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.: Walking Club.

8:30 a.m.: Seniorobics.

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Pool tables open play.

10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Holly Shoppe open.

10 a.m.: Fun & Fit exercise.

10:30 a.m.: Chair massage

11 a.m.: Arthritis Foundation exercise

11:30 a.m.: Music by Dennis Surna.

12:30 p.m.: Bridge

3 p.m. to 4 p.m.: Walking Club

Lunch menu: Hamburger Stroganoff with mashed potatoes and gravy, mixed vegetables, whole grain bread, peanut butter delight bar. Smear at Plover dining site (11:15); bingo at the Junction City dining site (12:30); memory screens at Plover dining site (11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.)

Aug. 21

7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.: Walking Club.

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Pool tables open play; computers for beginners; resistance chair exercise.

9 a.m.: Cribbage.

10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Holly Shoppe open.

10 a.m.: Mind Rewind Early Memory Loss.

11:30 a.m.: music by Daryl Kurtenbach.

1 p.m.: Pinochle; Mexican Train dominoes.

Lunch menu: Turkey ranch sandwich, pinto bean salad, marinated tomatoes and cucumber salad, seasonal fruit. Bingo at the Amherst dining site.

Aug. 22

7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.: Walking Club.

8:30 a.m.: Seniorobics.

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Pool tables open play.

9:30 a.m.: Knitting.

9:30 a.m.: Foot care clinic

10 a.m. Memory screening

10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.: Holly Shoppe open.

10 a.m.: Fun & Fit exercise.

10 a.m.: Blood pressure screening.

11 a.m.: Arthritis Foundation exercise.

11:30 a.m.: Music by the Potocki Family Band

1 p.m.: Round dancing.

2 p.m.: Square dancing.

3 p.m. to 4 p.m.: Walking Club

Lunch menu: Chicken, rice, broccoli casserole, Harvard style beets, fruit cocktail, sugar cookie. Round Table Crafters (10 a.m.) and bingo (12:30) at the Plover dining site.

Aug. 23

7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.: Walking Club.

9 a.m. to noon: Holly Shoppe registration of new merchandise.

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Pool tables open play.

10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.: Holly Shoppe open.

10:30 a.m.: Play Reading

11:30 a.m.: Music by Roger Nelson.

Noon to 4 p.m.: Resistance chair exercise.

1 p.m.: Duplicate bridge.

1:30 p.m.: Wii Bowling

Lunch menu: Cheeseburger on a whole grain bun, baked sweet potato puffs, seven layer salad, apricots. Bingo at Amherst and Lincoln Center dining sites.

Aug. 24

11 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Holly Shoppe open.
