Weston plans security cameras for skate park

Village officials are installing security cameras at two recreational areas near Kennedy Park in an effort to curb vandalism, underage drinking and assaults being reported in Weston's most popular park.

The Village Board earlier this year approved installation of cameras at the Weston Skate Park and the Weston Aquatic Center after the finance, parks and IT departments recommended the addition to improve security.

"We did some research about what other departments have done to deter crime at skate parks, and we believe security cameras will drastically reduce the problems at the park," ...
