Two Wisconsin Rapids-area parochial school systems are among 25 private systems statewide that will participate in the Wisconsin Parental Choice program after garnering among the highest number of voucher applications in the state.

Assumption Catholic Schools received 109 applications - the fifth-highest in the state behind schools in Green Bay, Eau Claire, Appleton and Oshkosh - and Immanuel Lutheran School received 40 applications, coming in at No. 24, the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction announced Thursday.
