Teacher salaries rose slightly across Wisconsin's public schools last year, but teacher raises paled in comparison to pay bumps for several top school administrators, a Gannett Wisconsin Media review of state Department of Public Instruction data shows.

Among the 300-plus district administrators who held the same positions in the 2011-12 as in the 2012-13 school year, about 70 percent received pay increases averaging a little more than $4,000, the review found. Pay was unchanged for 25 percent of administrators, and 4 percent were listed as receiving less in 2012-13.
