New brand, logo designed to educate public about tourism efforts

Tourism leaders in south Wood County say developing a new identity for the area's visitors center has helped to raise awareness about the region and what the agency actually does.

Since Jan. 1, the agency formerly known as the Wisconsin Rapids Area Convention and Visitors Bureau has started operating as Visit Wisconsin Rapids - an attempt to better explain what the agency does and to better distinguish itself from the area's business and economic development agency, the Heart of Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce, said Laura Nelson, executive director of Visit Wisconsin Rapids.
