Birthday party honors World War II veterans

Lawrence Pankratz, of Marshfield, recently celebrated his 94th birthday, but the World War II veteran is showing no signs of slowing down.

"Lawrence is still a member of the Honor Guard," said Bob Cherney, of Marshfield, who was a guest at Pankratz's birthday party Friday.

"He still drives a tractor," said Shirley Mook, of Marshfield, who organized the party at Sunrise Family Restaurant, 511 N. Central Ave. "His son and grandson restored his first tractor and he drove it in the Memorial Day parade and the Dairyfest Parade." ...
