Staples is collecting school supplies to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of the Wisconsin Rapids Area, the national office supply retailer announced this week.

The sixth annual Staples for Students National School Supply Drive allows teens to drop off supplies at the Wisconsin Rapids store, 2211 Eighth St. S., through Sunday, and Staples will put the supplies in the hands of Boys & Girls Club members, according to a company news release. Staples customers also may continue to donate $1 or more at the store through Sept. 28.

Since 2008, the campaign has raised nearly $3 million for hundreds of thousands of students throughout the country, according to the news release. This year's celebrity influencer is teen actor Jake T. Austin, who previously portrayed Max Russo on Disney Channel's "Wizards of Waverly Place."
