Ahlborn's photography inspired by nature

Local photographer Elizabeth Ahlborn got her start in art thanks to her grandparents, Fred and Ann Hanson. She used to spend hours watching her grandfather Fred tend bee hives and her grandmother Ann create oil paintings.

Now Ahlborn spends her time sneaking through her gardens hoping to find a bee, spider, bird or other natural wonder to photograph.

"I like being outside," said Ahlborn, "I especially like (photographing) hummingbirds and bees in flowers, doing their job." ...
