Residents say railroad noise worsens despite complaints

Allerton Drive residents say use of a railroad loading ramp behind their homes has only grown worse in the year since they first asked Oshkosh city officials to help resolve noise and litter issues.

The Wisconsin and Southern Railroad loading ramp right behind homes on the southern half of Allerton, a residential street off South Washburn Street, has been a sore spot for residents since the railroad revived it as a spot to load Oshkosh Corp. military vehicles onto flatcars several years ago.
