Apple growers expect fruitful season

Bright red, pink and gold apples hang heavily on their branches at Rock Ridge Orchard in Edgar, a sign of a good harvest to come.

"All the growers in the state really needed this crop this year," said Rock Ridge owner Dan Knetter.

Anna Maenner, director of the Wisconsin Apple Growers Association, said she expected to see about 80 to 100 percent of a normal apple crop this year. ...
