The Winnebago County housing market posted its best July in at least six years, continuing a strong recovery this year.

The Wisconsin Realtors Association said 165 existing homes were sold in the county in July 2013, a 7.2 percent increase compared to the 153 homes sold in July 2012. The 165 sales in July was the most of any July since 2007.

Through July, Winnebago County existing home sales have increased 3.8 percent this year, from 1,036 in 2012 to 1,076.

Interestingly, though, Winnebago County's year-to-date increase is the lowest of any county with a significant population in Northeast Wisconsin. By far.

Brown (+9.1 percent), Calumet (+21.1 percent), Fond du Lac (+11.4 percent), Manitowoc (+17.5 percent) and Outagamie (+10 percent), are all showing signs of a more vigorous recovery compared to Winnebago's 3.8 percent.
