McDonald's furnishings donated to Nicaragua

In less than two hours Monday, a group of volunteers from the Marshfield Lions Club had dismantled the tables, chairs and benches from the restaurant section of the city's McDonald's, which will be demolished Aug. 26. A new McDonald's will be built on the site in 90 days.

Marshfield McDonald's owner, Ron Fish, donated the furnishings to the Lions Club through the Wisconsin Nicaragua Partners, a nonprofit organization. The equipment will be used in Nicaraguan clinics, schools or nonprofit agencies.
