With the strong German heritage in this area, it's probably safe to say that most of you have tried strudel, or at least are familiar with it. Strudel is a layered pastry, most often filled with a sweet filling. While the word "strudel" is German, the pastry actually originated in Hungary, and became popular in the 18th century.
