The back view of the robber was captured on camera at the Citgo Station on Michigan and Second Avenue in Sturgeon Bay.
Sturgeon Bay police arrested a suspect Tuesday afternoon about 13 hours after an armed robbery at the Citgo gas station at Michigan Street and Second Avenue.
A 19-year-old Sturgeon Bay man was taken into custody outside an east side residence around 3 p.m. with assistance from investigators from the Door County Sheriff's Department, Sturgeon Bay Police Capt. Dan Brinkman said.
"Articles of clothing the suspect wore, the knife he used and cash were recovered and were found in the apartment and are believed to be connected to this incident," Brinkman said in a news release. "Evidence from other crimes was also recovered."
Earlier Tuesday, police released photos of a white male wearing a paintball mask who walked into the American Petroleum EZ Stop around 2 a.m. and threatened the clerk with a large black knife. The man stole an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured.
The store clerk immediately called the store manager, who called the owner, who notified police.
Surveillance cameras at the station captured images of the suspect, which police released to aid in his capture.
Police received a half-dozen tips that all pointed to the same man, Brinkman said. Investigators were interviewing the suspect and witnesses well into Tuesday evening.
