Art school holds reception for first juried student show

For the first time in its 48-year history, the Peninsula School of Art will hold a juried student exhibition, titled "Making Our Mark," which opens with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 23 in the school's Guenzel Gallery. Cash awards will be announced at the reception, which is free and open to the public.

The exhibition features 75 selected works that represent the artistic excellence of students who have attended adult workshops at the school since Jan. 1, 2008. The artwork, which is for sale, includes jewelry, paintings, drawings, photographs, sculptures and prints. To be eligible, a ...
