Secura Insurance president and CEO John Bykowski will retire from the company next July 1, the firm announced Tuesday.

Bykowski, who led Secura for 16 years, will continue as chairman of the board after his retirement.

Dave Gross, senior vice president-underwriting operations, will be appointed president and chief operating officer on Sept. 1 of this year, adding responsibility for Secura's claims operations. This positions him to become president and CEO next July.

Gross joined Secura in 1997 as vice president-sales and was promoted to his current position in 2001.

Kathryn Sieman, senior vice president and CFO, will become executive vice president, the company's second-highest ranking executive, on Sept. 1. She also will remain CFO.
