Movie review: Drinks, jokes served up 'til 'The World's End'

"The World's End" ought to be a mess.

It's not. Not by a long shot. Instead, it's about as much fun as you'll have at a movie this summer, especially if you see it at one of those theaters that serves beer. I can't vouch for that personally, but it certainly seems like one of the great drinking films of our time.

A mix of comedy, science fiction, nostalgia, adolescent wish-fulfillment and beer, beer, beer, its parts shouldn't fit together as neatly as they do. But somehow Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg have again managed to make a movie that is knowing, touching and hilarious. ...
