Reaction from Marshfield area residents was mixed to a bill proposed Tuesday in the state Assembly to increase the Wisconsin speed limit to 70 mph. State Rep. Paul Tittl, R-Manitowoc, introduced the bill.

Raising the limit from 65 mph to 70 mph makes sense, said Kim Hauge, who met her son Brent, both of Loyal, for lunch Tuesday afternoon.

"On the highways where you can drive 65 (mph) most people don't drive that. They already go 70 (mph) or faster," said Brent Hauge, who has had his driver's license for five years. ...
