Update: Storm brings 40 mph winds, more than 1 inch of rain

A thunderstorm around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday brought winds up to 41 mph and 1.34 inches of rainfall to Wausau.

The winds were just strong enough to pull the leaves off trees, said Jeremy Tabin, WSAW-TV meteorologist.

The storm also felled trees and knocked out power to some Wausau residents. As of 8 p.m. Wednesday, there were 1,722 Wausau residents without power, according to Wisconsin ...
