When Wendy Marshall was pregnant with her first child, she often thought about who her son would look like, and how it would feel to first hold him in her arms. She never expected anything would get in the way of that.

But something did.

Marshall's son Dawson, now 23 months, was born with a condition called wet lung that prevented him from breathing properly. During his week-long treatment, Dawson stayed in the Aspirus Wausau Hospital Anya Marie Jackson Newborn Intensive Care Unit.
