A Brown County Republican Party leader is asking state GOP officials to intervene in an escalating power struggle within the local organization.

Ray Suennen, a member of the county party's executive committee, told state party officials that county GOP Chairman Mark Becker has misled the membership in an attempt to seize "total control" of party affairs locally.

The request comes as Becker and his supporters move forward with an investigation that could result in the ouster of Suennen and others on the local executive committee. ...
