Greater Wausau: Family will uncork their version of upbeat jazz fusion during Artrageous Weekend

The family that plays together stays together, and the Fischers of Rib Mountain are doing it with a jazzy flair.

The family - father and mother Mike and Diane Fischer, along with their children, Geoffrey, Amanda and Lucas - have formed the fledgling jazz band the Michael Fischer Group. The combo's focus is on "energetic jazz like Duke Ellington, Chick Corea and Miles Davis," Mike said. But the musicians explore a variety of nooks and crannies of the genre in their performances.
