An autopsy will be performed today in Madison on a body found Thursday in a woods just west of Antigo.

The human remains were found Thursday afternoon, and evidence discovered at the scene did not match the description of any missing person from the area, said Langlade County Sheriff Bill Greening in a news release. Authorities were not able to identify gender, age or race from the body, nor were they able to determine the cause of death.

Greening said more information will be released as it becomes available.
