Experience a revival of classic lawn and board games at a Garden Party from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, on the T.B. Scott Free Library lawn in Merrill.

If inclement weather threatens, the Garden Party will move indoors into the library's Community Room.

No experience is needed. Each game will have an experienced volunteer as well as players from the Central Wisconsin Gaming Enthusiasts to give a short demonstration. Attendees can come and go and freely move from active games to the different board games.

The event is free and all ages are welcome. It's suggested that players younger than 10 bring an adult along.

You'll have a completely computer-free experience, playing active and board games known and enjoyed in years gone by and around the world. A wide variety of games have been selected, including Battleship, Stratego, Monopoly, antiquity games still played in Europe and the Middle East such as Ceega and Puluc, and active lawn games including croquet and Corn Hole (bean bag toss).

Refreshments will be served, compliments of The Checkered Churn and First Street Coffee Station.

For more information, call 715-536-7191 or log on to www.tbscottlibrary.org. Or check Facebook at CentralWisconsinGamingEnthusiastscwge or T.B. Scott Free Library.
