Brussels Town Board reviews liability coverage options

Reacting to the proposed agreement that would confirm the separation of Door County and local emergency medical responder (EMR) groups, the Brussels town board is investigating increasing the town's liability insurance coverage.

After two local EMRs from Northern Door communities were injured on emergency calls earlier this year and were denied in their workers' compensation claims by the county's insurer, Door County Corporation Counsel Grant Thomas drafted a proposed agreement in May spelling out local EMR groups insurance requirements.
