Growing herbs is a way to get the whole family involved in gardening, as well as harvesting and using the plants that you grow. Teaching your children how to care for and harvest fresh herbs as well as how to cook with them, even make crafts with them, is a wonderful way to educate them on the wonders of food and gardening.

Herbs are among the easiest garden plants to teach with, as many of them continue to grow throughout the season and can be harvested continuously.
