I was looking for a way to pass some time on a rainy Saturday a few weeks ago. My daughter was napping and my wife was at a bridal shower, or buying a shower, or taking a ... well, she was somewhere. All I know is that the house was quiet and I had no pressing chores that needed my attention. With some time to myself, I took out my fly-tying material.

I have long enjoyed the tying of flies and find it to be a relaxing, rainy-day activity. There's always a sense of satisfaction when I add a fly or two to my fly-box. It's also nice to know that my fly box is stocked and ready to go at a moment's notice, even though I ...
