It has been a busy summer for all of us working at McMillan Library. Luckily, we have had a lot of help.

Thanks to funding support from the WoodTrust-Bell Foundation, the Mead Witter Foundation, and the many people who have contributed to the Library's Endowment Fund; we were able to remodel our Youth Services Department. Our architect, Rhys MacPherson and Altmann Construction, has made this wonderful new space a reality. After several weeks of allowing the new sod to grow, the children's garden is now open to the public. Enjoy our new space!

Also this summer, we had great support from the city of Wisconsin Rapids' Engineering, Public Works, and Park & Recreation departments. The library's auxiliary parking lot has been resurfaced, concrete has been removed for a new area of lawn at the corner of Grand Avenue and Lincoln, concrete sidewalks adjacent to the library have been repaired, and dying spruce trees at the corner of Lincoln and Birch have been removed. We are grateful to these city of Wisconsin Rapids departments and proud to be part of a team of people working so hard for our community.
