Sex offender case review set for Thursday by Green Bay board

Residents of a Green Bay neighborhood will get another chance at keeping out a convicted sex offender due to be released from prison soon.

The city's Sex Offender Residency Board has scheduled a special meeting at 3:30 p.m. Thursday to reconsider the placement of Samuel Brandt. The 50-year-old was convicted of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl and wants to move into his mother's house at 471 S. Huron Road, on the city's far east side.

The city board approved Brandt's request July 10, but neighbors and their aldermen objected loudly, persuading the board to reconsider. ...
