A 71-year-old Menasha woman who called 911 more than 150 times since April prompted police to make an exception to its policy for responding to hang-ups and pocket dials.

From April to July, the woman called 911 regularly - sometimes several times a day - and hung up the phone when a dispatcher answered. When Menasha police called back to make sure everything was all right, the woman denied placing a call.

An officer responded to calls from the east-side home in nearly every case until it got so out of hand officials carved out an exception for the city's policy on responding to 911 hang-ups, said ...
