Loggins, trio close Waterfest season Thursday

Kenny Loggins wanted a new creative outlet.

The 65-year-old music star known for '80s hits "Footloose" and "Danger Zone," as well as earlier hits "Angry Eyes" and "Danny's Song," set out for Nashville circa 2008 for a new sound. Though established as a chart-topper long ago, Loggins still was anxious to grow as an artist when he touched down in Music City, unsure of what was in store. However, a newfound relationship with respected country music songwriters Gary Burr and Georgia Middleman would eventually lead to Loggins' latest project, Blue Sky Riders.
