Edgar ranked No. 1 in first AP poll of season

Edgar, which is coming off a 63-0 rout of Rib Lake in the season opener, tops the Small Division schools in the first Associated Press state football poll, despite not receiving a first place vote.

The Wildcats totaled 80 points in the poll that was released today and voted on by a panel of sports writers across the state. St. Mary's Springs, which received six of the 10 first-place votes, finished second with 77 points. Amherst received a pair of first-place votes and was fourth, a spot ahead of Stratford.

Colby and Loyal also received votes in the poll. ...
