Wisconsin farm fields dry statewide

Wisconsin's farm fields continued to show signs of dry weather last week with 72 percent of top soil moisture rated "short" to "very short."

A week ago that same rating was 59 percent, according to a weekly crop and weather report from the Wisconsin field office of the National Agricultural Statistics Service.

"Though much of the state received rain this week, precipitation was spotty and light for most," the report said. "Moisture received was offset by warmer temperatures, which were above normal statewide for the first time in over a month." ...
