Green Bay building permit activity in July showed more property owners making upgrades, but investing less.

According to city data, builders took out 308 permits during July for a combined $6.3 million in planned construction activity.

That compares with 246 permits and $6.7 million in construction activity during July of last year.

The biggest permitted project this July was a $1.1 million warehouse and office building planned at 2325 Hutson Road.

Last July, Georgia Pacific Corp. took out the largest permit for a $3.7 million re-roofing on its plant at 1919 S. Broadway.
