The 2013 Two Rivers city budget also included $10,000 in seed money to cover planning and design costs associated with a stage, or 'performance plaza' at the beach. Conceptual plans for such a stage have been developed by landscape architects at the Mequon office of Stantec Inc., according to Greg Buckley, city manager.

They should be. Get on down to Neshotah Beach for the eighth annual (can you believe that?) Kites Over Lake Michigan.

The weather forecast is hot and sunny, the sparkling waters and warm sand of the beach beckon, and organizer Chow Chong of Unique Flying Objects and his committee promise another great event.

Saturday and Sunday will feature colorful air and ground displays, acrobatic and precision flying performances, lots of activities for the kids (we all get to be kids at the kite festival) and great food. ...
