10 YEARS AGO: Kari Kraus of Hewitt is studying in Argentina for the fall semester. The daughter of Ron and Patty Kraus of Hewitt is a 2001 graduate of Marshfield High School.

Gas prices have jumped anywhere from a dime to 15 cents a gallon in the last week. The price of unleaded gas is now $1.76.9, and motorists are floored by the increase.

25 YEARS AGO: Eighteen members attended the recent meeting of the Sewing Circle of Zion Lutheran Church of Colby. Jeannene Rinehart, Marcella Apbeck and two other members will serve on a committee to plan the Mission Fest, planned for Sept. 18.

50 YEARS AGO: Branch managers from Land O'Lakes Creameries Inc. from several states toured the Dairy Belt Cheese and Butter Plant here recently. There were about 45 company officials in the group.

75 YEARS AGO: Pope Brothers Red Top Cab Co. has announced the inauguration of intrastate truck service in Marshfield. Harold Parmelee, manager of the local office, stated that through direct service between Marshfield and 105 other Wisconsin points would be included.
