Wausau City Council members remain divided on whether to give the Boys & Girls Club $25,000 in taxpayer dollars next year - a decision that will shake out in a full City Council debate this fall.

The city's Finance Committee voted 4-1 Tuesday to recommend approval of the club's service contract and added $25,000 to the city's 2014 budget that the full council will consider - a step that was never taken when the council approved the contribution last year in a controversial 6-5 vote. City Council member Jim Brezinski introduced the 2012 measure.
