For the first time in many years, the De Pere High School varsity boys soccer team failed to advance to the WIAA Division 1 sectional semifinals last year.

A 2-1 loss to Fox River Classic Conference rival Pulaski in a regional final gave the Redbirds a sinking feeling they never want to experience again.

That is why they're as committed as ever to have a successful season this spring, including getting back on a familiar long postseason run under the direction of first-year head coach Dusty Rhodes. ...
