Members of the Stevens Point Area YMCA Foundation Board recently met at Y Camp Glacier Hollow.
The Stevens Point Area YMCA Foundation recently met at Y Camp Glacier Hollow and welcomed Dave Marie of Ministry Saint Michael's Hospital and Carol Pringle, community volunteer, to the YMCA Foundation Board of Trustees. They join current board members Marg Coker-Nelson, Kris Firminhac, Val Glytas, Karen Henneghan, Sue Koehl, Ben Martinsen, George May, Geoffrey Mburu, Gerald O'Brien, Keith Pilger, Lizz Schneider and Tom Stafford. Erik Carlson, president of the YMCA Board of Directors, serves as an ex officio member.
The foundation board also recognized retiring board members Mary Berard, John Jury and Judy Rowe for their past support on the board. Bob Taylor and Jay Warner Sr. serve as directors emeritus on the YMCA Foundation Board of Trustees. The foundation board also acknowledges in memoriam Directors Emeritus Helen Godfrey, Joan Joerns and Edie Kraus.
Serving the first of their two-year terms are the officers of the YMCA Foundation Board: Keith Pilger, chairperson; Sue Koehl, chairwoman-elect; Geoffrey Mburu, treasurer; George May, past chair; Kelly Caughlan, ex officio, staff/secretary; and Dave Morgan, ex officio, staff.
The Stevens Point Area YMCA Foundation is a nonprofit, non-stock corporation funded by individual gifts to support the programs, projects, growth and development of the Stevens Point Area YMCA for the collective benefit of its community. The YMCA Foundation aims to support the goals and objectives of the YMCA by providing future financial stability for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. This year, the YMCA Foundation approved the allocation of $11,389 to YMCA programs and services meeting the needs of children, adults and families within our community. An additional $4,600 was allocated from the annual campaign trust fund for scholarship assistance.
